paul-boneWhile still in college, Paul Keen started a recording career in motion pictures and filmed television for such studios as MGM, Warner Brothers, Columbia and Disney Studios, and also played background music for dozens of popular cartoons produced by Hanna- Barbera Studios. Paul had the opportunity to play in the big bands of Louis Bellson, Buddy Rich and Don Ellis, as well as the Stan Kenton Neophonic Orchestra. Following an extensive career playing in the greater Los Angeles area, he accepted the position of Musical Conductor on tour for Holiday On Ice. After traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for four years, Paul decided to settle down and make his home in the Reno-Tahoe area where he played in the showrooms for performers including Sammy Davis Jr., George Burns, Barry Manilow, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Paul also entered into the field of newspaper advertising, which took him to Oregon, Houston, Central California and eventually to Grand Rapids. After retiring in 2009 from the Grand Rapids Press, he is actively engaged in music once again, both as a performer and also as a composer and arranger. Having always held the belief that it must be fun to come to work, Paul is pleased to report that since re-focusing his energy on music, he is having more fun than ever.
